Let us sorrowfully adore the love that held firm to the end, so that the sacrifice should be made complete. We give thanks that all human suffering is known to God, not only by his omniscience but by his having walked on this earth, shared our pain, our weariness, our emptiness. May our dear Lord forgive our continual falls into sin, our imperfect moments of repentance, our guilty return to seek temptation and yield to it. It was our sins that threw the sinless Son of God to the ground, our sins that still grieve his heart of love when we return to them.
Jesus, knowing our human weakness, forgive our falls into sin.
Jesus, lying alone and friendless, raise us up.
Jesus, broken by the evil of the world, cleanse us and make us whole.
Christ became obedient for us unto death.
Even the death of the Cross.
Let us bless the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
